Speed modulation gears
 
Unimec speed modulation gears operate in a similar way to planetary reduction gears, the only difference being that the external wheel, rather than being integral with the body, is held up by a worm or so-called correction screw.
According to the direction of rotation of the correction worm screw (and therefore the rotation of the wheel in the planetary unit) it is possible to give the drive additional speed by exploiting the principle of the algebraic sum of motion.
The speed modulation gears are ideal for carrying out the necessary corrections between the various phases of work in graphic, printing, packing and manufacturing lines as well as systems with several work stations. The application of the modulation gears on conveyor belts and feeding lines enables operations to be synchronized with extreme precision. Another important application is the use of the modulation gears as continuous speed variators.
Therefore, it is possible – for example – to vary the speed on production lines in one or more stations to obtain constant rates of delivery. Three versions and several variants offer a wide range of solutions to designers. Besides the standard models, Unimec can also supply special modulation gears specifically adapted to the needs of particular machines.

Very high efficiency is obtained thanks to precision machining of the gears by specific machines and equipment combined with careful assembly. The levels of efficiency vary according to the model:
Model “F” 90-93 %
Model “DF” 85-90 %
